Jailed

Today as I waited to cross the road, the prison van passed by.
People with hopes and dreams, people with skin and blood.

Their lives on hold … their bodies behind bars…

Physically imprisoned.

Today I looked in the mirror hoping that finally my reflection would smile back.
A person with hopes and dreams, skin and blood.

My life on hold… my heart behind bars…

Emotionally imprisoned.

Striking word imagery! I can almost picture matching black n white fotos to go along with the two descriptions.

Awesome as ever DD. We are generally far more imprisoned by ourselves and our issues than by any other threat and you state it so very well!

WE are all prisoners behind bars or not, choices we make and choices we take decide decide the size of your sentence

yes we are all prisoners of our own desires... and it's definitely futile to try to push bars apart by force

well anon - in that case we also have the ability to take the choices and make the decisions that don't leave us feeling imprisoned no?

I agree Rob, the beauty part is that often those desires are attainable without bending bars :)
