All That Remains...

I let you inside my body and you became a part 
of it. Only an unborn swimming in her mother's  
womb achieves closer proximity.

Then you left...

And every day ,of the year, that you were away a 

little bit of you left my body and even smaller 

bits were erased by my mind.

Now all that remains is the deep red crystal heart you
gave me, slowly catching the light as it dangles on my wrist.

It is the colour of the blood which you would have drawn, 
had the gaping wound you left been physical.
